Accommodation in Wae Rebo is very basic: shared sleeping space in a traditional house (Mbaru Niang) with simple facilities.
Weather conditions in Flores can change quickly. Sea conditions may affect the Komodo boat itinerary. The sequence of island visits may be adjusted for safety.
Electricity in Wae Rebo and on the boat is limited—charge your devices beforehand and consider bringing a power bank.
Hot water may not be available in some rural accommodations.
Clothing tip: Bring both light clothes for hot coastal weather and warm clothes for cool highland areas like Moni and Bajawa.
Mosquitoes and insects are common in certain areas—mosquito repellent is strongly recommended.
Respect local customs, especially in traditional villages like Wae Rebo and Bena. Avoid wearing revealing clothes, and always ask before taking photos of people.
Manta sightings are not guaranteed, as they depend on weather, currents, and season.
Snorkeling gear is provided on the boat, but you may bring your own for better fit and comfort.
Stay hydrated and always follow your guide’s safety instructions during all activities, especially trekking and snorkeling.
Luggage suggestion: A backpack or soft duffel bag is more convenient than a hard suitcase, especially for boat and overland travel.
